WHAT IS AN O-SHOT?

The O-Shot® is a non-surgical treatment that helps repair vaginal tissues and both urinary and sexual functions. The O-Shot is 100% natural and safe. The procedure takes less than 10 minutes and has little to no recovery time.

The O-Shot is a drug-free treatment that utilizes your very own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained by concentrating your blood and placing it in your genital tissues to improve your vaginal, urinary and sexual health.

There are a number of life events like childbearing, aging, surgery, and hormonal changes that can impact the function of the vagina, sexual health, and urinary systems. Issues like decreased genital sensitivity, urinary incontinence, loss of vaginal lubrication, vaginal laxity, and other gynecological issues can interfere with your health and ultimately lessen your quality of life.

Scientific evidence shows that O-Shots or genital PRP can help with:

  • Decreased ability to orgasm
  • Taking too long to orgasm
  • Weak orgasms
  • Decreased desire for sex
  • Urinating on yourself while coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or on your way to the bathroom
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Chronic genital itching and pain from Lichen Sclerosis
  • Some causes of painful sex
  • Some causes of urinary frequency

Frequently Asked Questions

WHY SHOULD I OBTAIN AN O-SHOT WITH NURSE PRACTITIONER ANGELA CROTHERS?
Angela has spent over thirty years specializing in women’s health and has been a gynecological nurse practitioner since 2004. She offers comprehensive gynecological care here at Willow Health and can prescribe many interventions to treat your sexual, gynecological and or urinary concerns. She is passionate about all things women’s health and would love to help you!

HOW DOES THE O-SHOT WORK?
It utilizes the platelet rich plasma concentrated from your own whole blood. When your platelets are re-injected into your body they activate upon encountering your tissues. As platelets activate they release growth hormones and repair factors that stimulate tissues to grow, regenerate and rejuvenate. You can have confidence in the technology as PRP been used for decades by many different doctors to heal injuries and aid in surgical recovery.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON THE DAY OF MY PROCEDURE?
After you complete your paperwork we draw your blood to obtain your PRP. The centrifugation process takes about 20 minutes. During that time we will numb your genitals with topical cream, ice and a nerve block. This makes the procedure virtually pain free and most women note only a very mild sensation during the procedure. We inject your PRP into your clitoris and your vagina. You will be in the office between 45 minutes to an hour. You can drive yourself to the office and drive yourself home.

HOW LONG DO THE BENEFITS OF O-SHOT LAST?
This is variable between patients. Most report that incontinence improvements last 1-2 years. Orgasm, sexual functioning and libido improvements range widely from patient to patient from 8-24 months. Some patients budget for repeating the procedure every 12-18 months for maintenance.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
Typically sexual resting a day or two is what most women end up doing. Conversely, some patients are hyper-aroused after the procedure and return to an active sex life immediately after the procedure. You’ll know when it’s right for you to return to sexual intimacy.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE I SEE RESULTS AFTER AN O-SHOT?
Generally, women will begin to experience heightened sensation in the first 1-7 days and new tissue will begin to develop over the next 3-9 weeks. This will peak around the 3-month mark.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The procedure costs $1250.

Although it’s not absolutely required, a consultation is preferred.
$175 new patient O-Shot consultation
$100 established patient O-Shot consultation

WHAT IF IT DOESN’T WORK?
Sexual and urinary health are sometimes complicated topics and often have many variables contributing to a patient’s experience. The O-Shot does not work for everybody or every condition. One of the reasons for a consultation with Angela Crothers, MS, WHNP-BC is to determine if you are a good candidate for what an O-Shot can offer. Because of this screening, very few patients see no improvement of any variety. If the first shot is not providing you with any therapeutic benefit a repeated procedure typically has improved results. If you are not satisfied 3 months after your first O-Shot, we will perform another O-Shot for $275. We are so confident that you will note a change after the second O-Shot that we will refund $1,000 of your fees after your second O-shot if you do not see any therapeutic benefit. We want you to be happy and satisfied and we are confident you will be!

WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL RISKS OF THE O-SHOT?

  • Immediately after the procedure women may notice mild and temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, itching, skin discoloration, bruising or irritation. These typically last 1-2 days after the procedure and very rarely up to 3 weeks
  • The procedure may not work or may not work as well as you hoped it would
  • The procedure may work but its positive effects may be short-lived. This can lead to frustration and added costs when you desire another O-Shot
  • The O-Shot cost may be a financial burden for you

  • Continuous sexual arousal (especially immediately after the procedure)

The Woman’s 4 Sex-Pleasure Problems

• Female Sexual Arousal Disorder: (usually but not always accompanies Sexual Desire Disorder). Women who suffer from this may want to have sex but have much difficulty finding the pleasure of arousal.
• Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder: (Low desire). Remember, that this is not counted as a disorder unless it’s disrupting the woman’s life. Around 10% of women suffer from this problem.
• Female Orgasmic Disorder: Women can become aroused but have much difficulty with orgasm. This can be so frustrating that sex becomes a frustration that they avoid.
• Dyspareunia: Women suffer with real pain with sex (not from decreased lubrication or vaginal spasm). The incidence is around 1 in 10 women.

Important to note: suffering with a sexual disorder does not simply make sex not fun. Better sex leads to more energy, more creativity, increased confidence, less depression, and improved overall health.
